My guess is moulting..
I keep sulawesi shrimps, tetras, birds, exotic pets, herptiles and monster fishes.
Many of my sakura have such 'cracks' behind the carapace and went up the lorry in a day or two. GC boss told me it was molting problem, but my gH is in the right range of 4-5. Still have not found the reason.
I also have one like this, been around for 4-5 days. All others look healthy, so can't be water issue.
Guess BISO is right, my this shrimp is dead...

Check your pH. It maybe too low.
Ok will do that. I have driftwoods in the tank, maybe?

For my case, should not have anything to do with pH. Did lots of searches on Internet but still none the wiser.
I have the same problem in the past. At that time, my pH is 6.0 and gH was 4, my fire red keep dying and I was at my wits, I came across a forum whom another person encounter the same problem. His water condition is very similar as mine. What he did is he increase his tank pH to 6.5 and his problem is solved. I did the same and my fire red has since stop dying and starts to multiply.
