As for the biomedia, if you're not happy with the ones that comes with the filter, you can get the Seachem Matrix (value for money for the very large amount of surface area it has).
Had decided to get the ecco pro 130. Comes with shut-off taps and media although it is more expensive than the classic 150, it is also more power efficient (a higher flow rate with the same wattage rating). Meaning better cost saving in the long run.
