It's advisable to trim away the bad or dead riccia. Just keep the height at 4" by pruning regularly, should not be a problem.
What do you feed your fish with?
Dear all,
A certain portion of my riccia has turned pale yellowish in colour. I understand this is because of in sufficient nutrients. But most of the rest of the riccia are doing pretty well as in they are green in colour. Could it be distribition of nutrients is uneven? Or a need to trim my riccia? i like my riccia to be about 4" in height. Anyway to keep the bottom portion in shape?
Also my cardinal tetras are letting out white 'shit'. Are they sick?
Thanks!

Which portion of your ricca is turning yellowish.
If it is the lower portion then your ricca is too thick and dense such that your light cannot penetrate through.
The display tsnk in Nature is a good example.
