    Hi Guys,

I have been read different threads on lights for planted tanks. Currently, I'm using the Beamswork LED light and my tank is the ADA 60-P. I have plans to change my tank into a full planted tank. So will this light do or do I have to change?
    Cheers.

Comments on Changing my LED light

    Hello,

There should be 2 variants of it. Also how much flora and the demands need to be considered.

I've seen sweet and sour attempts for having a planted tank based in that series. So which one do you have

If you are talking about the LED light, it is the one with the link (in my first post).

How much flora? A lot more than what I have now. I'm looking at doing dwarf hairgrass carpet, some Alternanthera reineckii 'Purple' (lilacina), some Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow', some Myriophyllum mattogrossense 'Red', maybe some riccia on a rock.

I haven't really finish planning the plants and layout. I read a lot of threads about lightings some say should look at the watts, some say look at the K. So I'm a bit lost.
    Cheers.

LED so hard to gauge sometimes. We can see if shadow comes across this thread and see what he advice.
A few have bought and claim very good, but not many have come back with their lush carpet pictures. But instead with dying tanks and algae battles..

I should not have read the link you gave me. I didn't understand a single thing.

Ok, if I were to get a Aqua Zonic T5, I might go for the 2 bulbs. What I read so far (from other sources), is that I should be looking at around 6500K bulbs. So far, am I correct?

If I am correct, then my next question will be does both bulbs need to be 6500K? Can one be 6500K and the other 10000K?
    Cheers.

Re: Comments on Changing my LED light

I read some threads and found out something. (My head hurts really bad, have been researching the whole day)

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

T5HO lamps should be hanging above the tank and cannot be placed just above the tank. As for the Kelvin, it should be between 6500K to 10000K for planted tanks.

    Am I correct so far?
    Cheers.
