Need some advice to set up a 2 feet high planted tank...........

I am currently setting up a 2.5 ft (L) x 1 ft (W) X 2 ft (H) planted tank. Wonder what type of lights will I need as my tank is abit deep. Is it sufficient just going by the 2W per gallon calculation?

Maybe you should try those lights with 4 T5 tubes. Should be sufficient for growing plants.

I guess 4x t5ho should be sufficed. Depends on reflector quality too. To reach the deepest.

Or else use metal halide. But produce a lot of heat and tricky to algae bloom if not being taken care intensively. But your concept is to make high tank so i think you should be well prepared for the risks

This is 3 feet bulb, with no reflector. I assume you already have the reflector or fixtures attached. And your tank length is 2.5 ft isn't it?
