Astro, can check where did you get the Red Jewel from? It is a cheap fish but I like the colour.

For cichlids, the males are usually brighter coloured & the dorsal are sometimes extended.

Jewel cichlid can get quite big for a medium/ small -sized cichlid & are very aggressive, even to other fishes.

Convict cichlids are also aggressive. For matured males, the dorsal is really extended. Matured females are easy to identify as the belly has some red (the one in front is a female). There is an all-white morph of convict cichlid - really beautiful as the females look like they are blushing. The ones in the above photos are not dwarf. They are hybrids because the overall body shape is really different. I have not seen any dwarf convicts yet.

I believe both types are African cichlids & both are very easy to spawn. You need a minimum 2-fee tank for each pair. They tend to dig, so the substrate is a little tricky. It's a pity since they really look nice in planted tanks. Their colours really show up against dark backdrop.
