From what u can see in the pic this is my aquarium its a 25x40x26 if I got it correct. in this tank I have 7 mollies and a albino pleco. lighting using led bar type So I have a couple of questions which is do I need to add more plants in the tank? or will this do and why is it when I on the light the mollies scuttle to the rear of the tank. And can I put shrimps in the tank together with the mollies? if so do I need to add anything for the shrimps?
I apologise in advance cos this is my 1st time rearing fishes and 1st time posting, pls advise thanks.

My advise is for you to stop using sms lingo. This is not a fast paced hobby so you should take your time to compose your reply. Why the moderator frets about not using sms lingo is that we have members from other countries as well as different age group so this sms lingo may not be understandable to all. advise for aquscaping and shrimps.

    Is it a new tank?

It is ok when their abit frighten initially. They will get over it soon (most likely due to feeding).

Looks like a simple house tank to me.
Are you looking to breeding? Mollies?

Cheers and welcome to the hobby.

sorry but i don't really understand what you mean by house tank but if it means by a normal fish tank then it is, i bought it at a Local fish shop name is seaview the one from jalan kayu.
i'm not trying to breed and the scientific name for the fish i think is Poecilia, its orange in colour and thanks for the welcome. This is not the first tank 2nd tank that is because the first tank was small and i thought by changing the tank i can do some aquascaping and let the fishes have more room to roam. So i was thinking of having some shrimps for the tank but i am wondering if i put the shrimps in will the
"mollies" eat them? and if not what else do i need to get for the shrimps like plants or decorations?
And thanks again for the help

Hi cainyew, maybe you can specify what kind of shrimps you have in mind to mix as different species of shrimps need different requirement.
But in my opinion try not to mix the shrimps with mollies as mollies will attempt to eat them up. If not they will peck the shrimps and over a period of time your shrimps might get stress and die.

thanks zenith for the advise, will heed it.and by the way previously the question I had for Felix I have another one. When I on the light for the aquarium the fishes will scuttle and hide but when I off it they will return to normal swimming around. Is there anything to do with the lighting or its just that the fishes are still not used to the aquarium just yet?

what's the name of the plant that I can use for carpeting without minimal light? And for now I think the mollies are getting used to the tank they won't scuttle around even if I on the light. So far in my tank there are only hornwort and java fern. I hope to do some carpeting because I feel the fish poop is making the scape very ugly.

    advise for aquscaping and shrimps.

They likely got a bad shock from bright lights being suddenly turned on.

You might not be able to totally remove the initial Shock they get, but can get them to be less shy after.

Mixing shrimps which are more "bite and nibble size" will always pose risk since fish will attempt to eat anything (even our fingers for some lol).
This has been brought up countless times actually. A forum search will reveal even more similar queries & answers.

Minimum light can grow some plants, carpet plants less chance to grow nicely.
(you asked no minimum light, no light cannot grow any plant. So I guess typo mistake?)

sorry typo should be with minimal light. so in other words I can still grow the carpet but it won't turn out as good as those in LFSs? I think I'll give it a miss then.
