    i think it is a rock to prevent the DW from floating. At the centre, looks like fissidens on bogwood branch.

    2 x 39w already enough to grow plants. but then yours under warranty anot?
    use finger try see how much mould comes off, shrimps and some fish will clean the remainder off.

    picture got high res version? i cannot see the lighter coloured plant. not sure if it's riccia or fissden

    the java fern you are growing at the back, i don't think they grow well with their roots buried.

    can any one confirm this not sure on this point

    it could be something that hold down the DW but doesnt look like a rock.
    It not the fissidens that is on the left,it a bit to the right.

    HI guys, way away.

    - sitting on the drift wood is those plastic casing for moss (wuahaha)

    - ya... don't think is aquatic plant in the centre... C382 buy one....

    - the java ferns is tied to some wire mess and sitting near soil surface.

    I had rearrange the tank again tonight I post a update.

    the more I look at pass AGA pictures, the more I think im doing it all wrong.. too many plants, no focus. headless fly like that.

    Q: Guys, please teach me how to have nice looking java ferns? how to make it so bushy? and those Java ferns in contest picture looks smaller, shorter.459.jpg

    Hmmm... I thought the plastic casing are more for riccia.

    Jave fern take time to grow. I have always thought there is no skill involve in growing java fern. Just the usual things, light and fert. They are simple to handle.

    There is no right or wrong in aquascaping, too many plant will not make it no focus, it all depend on your placement and composition as a whole.

    Java fern you buy from LFS is grown emerge, normally the leaf is stiffer and bigger. Look smaller can also because bigger tank.

    I bought some kind of stem plant which after afew days, the new shoot come out and the whole appearance changed.
    whys that so?

    My Tank

    Tank: 3x2x2 feet
    Light : 7 x 39watt T5
    pressurized co2: 4-5 bpm
    Jebao canister: 1200liters/hours (as per specs)

    photo period: 4.5 hrs x 2 (0900 -1330 , 1800 - 2230)

    seachem excel: 1 cap every alternate day
    seachem flourish: 1 cap every day
    brighty k: 4 push (sometimes alternate day)
    step 1: 4 push (sometimes alternate day)

    fishes: 20 neon tetra, 06 Golden pristella tetra, 08 ottos, 08 yamato shrimp, 05 sakura shrimp,

    everyday top up water, 20% water change every week.

    please feel free to comment. I got an 'anyhow fertilizing regime'

    7x39 watt, wow that's a lot!! surprisingly no green algae at all over your stones.

    How long the distance between the light and water surface ?

    Im using aquazonic those standard light c/w stands. I will take a measurement tonight.

    No algae probably because I only have 9hrs photoperiod ba...

    My light is 9 cm away from water surface


    today something terrible happen. Many brown algae was flushed out from my dirty canister pipe.
    what kind of algae is it? my yamato is crazy about it.

    Is It ok I leave it in the tank?

    this is BBA ,not that easy to remove it, after it die , also will stick at there, let yamato do the job
