Done. Sometimes I wonder if we should all be blasted back to the Middle Ages
The Brazilian government in building a dam across the Amazon river, and in the process could possibly wipe out 400,000 hectares of forest, an area bigger than the Panama Canal, thus expelling 40,000 indigenous and local populations, not to mention the wildlife and freshwater faunas in the immediate areas! And many indigenous fish and pleco species would be affected as well! (Many in the aquarium trade!)
If you could spare 1 minute of your precious time to sign the petition would be very much appreciated.

Done! Humans are really destroying this planets...![]()
Thank you guys. We may be thousands of miles away, but the least we can do is some internet activism.
It will be very sad to see the dam being built and effect the flora and fauna there. We have already lost the Yangtze Dolphin in our generation. Who knows what else we could have lost in the diverse Amazon river.
Not only Amazon river or the Yangtze river. Our dear northern neighbor is threatening the flora and fauna there as well. It would really be nice if the government in these countries convert them into some kind of tourism attractions yet preserve these natural heritage.... it's like killing two birds with one stone.
The Japanese on the other hand, despite urban development, has not forgotten the need for conservation. I watched a documentary on how the Japanese government took steps to protect the elusive Japanese giant salamander yet still able to reap economic benefits...
