    Washing the pre filter

Just disconnect it and wash/replace filter wool when it's dirty, else flowrate will be reduced if clogged with dirt.

    Re: Washing the pre filter

As pre-filters are easily clogged, it is good to clean as soon as one notices the water flow is starting to be affected by it. There's really no harm in cleaning it too often, since a clogged pre-filter can affect the integrity and life of the bio-media bacteria.

    Washing the pre filter

Some says monthly wash, some say when flowrate cuts.. For me, I do when I noticed that the flow rate is reducing or when shrimps have an issue...

My last change of filter wool was 6 months upon setting up... Hahaha...
