Did the chiller kick in after you connected it? Did the temperature fall? Your canister filled with a lot of media? If I'm not wrong, for 2 ft tank 500 to 1000 litres should be ok.
I bought a 2 year old unit about 5 months ago. It is my first chiller and I have zero experience. I haven't used it until yesterday night when I finally hooked it up to my canister filter (Eheim 2217) and ran the entire set-up. I expected it to have chilled my tank's water (2 footer) to the 23.5degrees I set last night but it doesn't seem to have done so. Hence I have couple of questions regarding it's usage.
1. I connected the outlet of my canister to the "IN" of the chiller. Is this correct?
2. When the chiller kicks in, does a light beside the word "Cool" light up for as long as the unit is cooling?
3. Is my canister flow rate too low? Arctica's website states the chiller runs best with a minimal flow rate of 1000L/H but the Eheim 2217 is rated at that exact flow rate when empty.
4. Am I missing anything in the set up of the chiller that is contributing to it not chilling properly?
5. What are the chances that I bought a malfunctioning chiller or that a prolonged period out of use has caused it to not work properly anymore?
Thanks and I hope I can resolve my problem asap.

your connection is correct, you can use 2217 because I also use that. Did the chiller manage to reduce the temperature or not at all? did you test it at seller place?
All is well! I didn't purge all the air from the chiller and wasn't setting it properly hence the malfunction. Thanks for your replies anyway guys, appreciate it! Really love how quiet and efficient the Arctica unit is despite being a coupla' years old. Nothing beats the Ferrari of chillers!
Hi Bro, can PM me how much you bought the Arctica chiller for? Thanks
