Currently I have one, it's very bright IMO! Not sure about the PAR though.

Re: anyone has the new up aqua z series led light

I managed to get 2 sets of the Up Pro Z-Series LED Lights a few weeks ago (ordered them from eBay). I got the 45cm (135 LED) and 30cm (90 LED) versions for my 1.5ft and 1ft tanks respectively.

Currently i'm testing them with 2 new tanks and so far they have been working surprisingly well. The plants in the test tanks (ie. HC, Glosso, Riccia etc) seem to be growing at similar speed as when i was using T5HO lights.

I'm planning to post a proper review on them after i've completed a few more weeks of testing, but for reference here is my current test progress on one of the tanks and my initial impressions on it:

This 1.5ft test tank is growing HC emersed in dry-start method and just 2 weeks into the DSM with these Z-Series LED lights, i can see the HC spreading nicely and the roots already growing 3-4cm into the substrate.

With the previous older LED lights i've tested, there tends to be a scattered light effect (due to sparsely spread out individual LEDs), so some areas of the tank get more light while other areas get less light... but because the Z-Series LED Lights pack 2-3x more LEDs into the same space, the light coverage in the tank is more complete with much less visible gaps.

So far my preliminary verdict is positive on these lights, at least for low-mid light requirement plants... not sure yet how they would fare over time with a heavily planted tank full of high light demanding plants though, i guess we'll have to do more testing and find out.

So far, i've only spotted a set at East Ocean when i visited them in mid-November, but it was being used on one of their planted display tanks at their front counter (the riccia mats inside that tank were pearling like crazy)... the staff said it wasn't for sale though, 'cos that one was just a sample unit.

They did mention they might be getting stock for them in December (which is now), so maybe can check there.

Any other members able to share their experiences/impressions on the Up Aqua Z Series LED?

They look quite nice to me, perhaps comparable to the ADA Aquasky. However I would like to see if it is able to bring out red and purple colours in stem plants (Like T5).

try it on red plants, see if the plant can maintain its color.

Hi, any updates on the LED light's performance in flooded tank? I'm interested in the LED Lights for planted tank too!
