sorry.. haven't been checking the forum for sometime...
lynz: i secured it using net and fishing line. bought from ah pek if you are interested to get them too. think nature should have them too.. even those nets used for packaging onions can be used in this case. the riccia will float up in my case too after growing too thickly. then have to retie again to keep it down. don't really like trimming them cos it makes the tank really messy with all the bits of riccia.
vinz: i don't know if that's a P. leopaldi. i got it from a farm in seletar for $2. []
elmike: thanks. the W and H is 1.5'. there were too many fish in the tank at the time the photograph is taken.. but now the discus have their own tank already. i change 1/3 of the water once a week. and yah, i have fishes leaving me but amazingly no discus at all.
juggler: thanks.. i got to know the mis-identification when the "female" rotkeil fought with the male rotkeil in the tank. yup it's indeed a gibbiceps.

oqs
still admiring your tank...
Does your angelfish get along w your discus. Do they bicker at all? I plan to mix the "queens" and the "kings" someday.
Mike

the angels don't fight the discus. but they have a pecking order among themselves. as in angel bite angel and discus bite discus. guess you need a really big tank to house a few of each for them to live happily.

Nah... even with bigger tank, they'll prolly still be pecking each other. Maybe less but they'll still be at each other as this is their nature.
