    Nice work there oqs,

I see that you're using a heater. What temp did you set it at?

    Don't mind a small comment:
You may want too consider relocating your difuser to another place.
    Cheers!!

some one from the LFS told me that if I keep corydoras, it's advisable not to plant plants like the hairgrass or equivalent. Coz the cory will eventually digs them out or destroy them.

True? I am very keen to put those plants in leh.

    Ninjafly,
Actually quite true. Corydorus are bottom feeders and the tend to dig up gravel. However, if your carpet/foreground plants are establish/well-rooted, it shouldn't be a problem.

    Hi Ninjafly,

I keep Corys in my tank covered with E. tennelus and Elatines sp. The only concern I think is them finding food. So far they are doing well in my tank. I think you need not worry.

    Nice!

    i like your beautiful angelfish!

i dont like the way the diffuser sticks out!

does your figure of eight nip at the fins of your fish? esp your apisto?

the heater is set at 28C. bought it when first setting up the tank cos the discus were getting white spots. now with additional lights, the temp of the water is much higher than initially set up. need to add a fan now. still in the process of DIY-ing.
oh yah.. about the diffuser, i thought it looked wierd too but my dad like the effect. so it's at the front. heh... anyway, if i were to relocate it, where do you think is a good place?
heh.. i guess flaws doesn't escape the expert's eyes.

Ninjafly: about cories digging up small plants... when i planted my hairgrass, my cories were digging for food at the hairgrass region but i guess only a few strands were uprooted cos they were not planted properly. i think if you plant deep enough, it should be okay.

lsz: the figure of eight did nip at the fishes initially. but i think the discus or angelfish taught him a lesson. never see him bother the apisto too. he's getting enough food from the bloodworms i'm feeding anyway.

Hi, oqs....just saw pics of your tank. Looks really good especially the riccia. How did you manage to have them grow nicely without the riccia floating to the surface? Did you secure it down with anything? Really envious, man! My riccia floats up after a certain height.
    Appreciate your advice. Thnks!

    cheers

Lynz, thanks for digging up this old thread... noticed something I need.

Oqs, notice you have an angelfish in there. Looks like a P.Leopoldi to me. May I ask where you got it from and how much you paid for it?

    Thanks.

    ops

Good work ...u have a great tank.

looks like u have a lot of fish for a 3 footer. How big is the W and H? How many fish exactly n what filter system are u using? How often do you do water change. Did you have any fish death over the 1 year period? I know discus is a very demanding n sensitive fish.

Very refreshing to see a nicely laid out planted tank. Great job!

BTW - the Apistogramma Rotkeil female could be mis-identified. It looks like A. gibbiceps.
