    Hi bros,

I'm newbie here, want to set up a low maintenance tank, no base fert no CO2.
Got a 2x1.5x1.5 feet tank, canister filter, 1x8000k lighting from friend
and bought a 22kg gravel. Thats all.
Can I have Discus, shrimps and neon cardinal in this set-up and what kind of plants can I grow?
errr....i saw glosso very nice background plant, but dunno whether can
    survive in this tank....

What kind of water parameters do I need to maintain?

    Hope bros here can advise.

    Cheers

First you could do no worse than reading up the article on this site on low maintenance mini tanks, as well as the Planted Tanks 101 sticky thread.

The flora/fauna albums will provide much information on plant and fish requirements. But I don't think you should keep discus in a 2 ft tank. it's too small for them.

Usually, I associate low light, no CO2 and low maintenance tank with rich substrate. I am not sure whether it will work without basefert.
