This plant spread by runners. If you trim the stem, I don't think it will grow. I am just wondering how come the stems are so thin.
If yours is Marsilea hirsuta like what I have. Than it doesn't really matter if you cut off the stem. Cause when its grow submerged, the old leaves will die off and turn black. New shoots will eventually form. The new shoots are spoon like leaves. Like those on tropica site: http://www.tropica.com/en/plants/pla...n.aspx?pid=010
I see, thanks for the info... Just brought another tub of Marsilea hirsuta from Tropica and hope it will spread.

Just one more thing, your soil depth attach in your photo seems too shallow. Try to give it at least 1.5 inch deep. Better if there's more depth.
