What betta is that? Normal fighting fish? Gouramis and betta are usually agreesive to con-species unless kept in a bigger group. Your 1.4ft tank might be too small to provide enough area for retreating.
I recently bought two honey gouramis for my 1.4ft tank containing a single male betta, 4 guppies and 4 tiny "Lamp eyes".
The question is... gouramis and bettas are of the same group... so would they be fighting each other? I see some chasing of the gouramis by my betta already, but it may be normal behaviour by my betta ( it tends to chase new fish around for a few days and gradually allows them to be in his home )
Any experienced ppl can answer my question? I really hope these two speices can get along after all...

so the best choice will be to seperate them? Or maybe experiment, see if they can cohabit?
If u can offer them a bigger quater, it will be good.
I experienced my chocolate gouramis fougth til death in my 1.5ft. Should have got more than just a pair.

should have got more than just a pair? You mean they are supposed to be in groups of 4 or more?
btw what i did now is to leave one gourami and betta in the tank... i took out one of the gouramis see if it works out... hope it does![]()
