Thanks a lot for your valuable opinion. I think I'll go for wooden stand instead. Yes, I intend to use MH light. And I'll put the tank in my room which is air condition at night. So, on the lights for coral during night time. Should be able to solve the problem for heat.[/quote:ea67066787]
To contemplate MH without Chiller.. can, unless ur tank is in an air-conditioned room the whole day.. if just at night.. the temperature will shoots up and i'm assuming that ur tank will be covered up, meaning, heat gets trapped inside, thus, increasing water temp and higher evaporation loss and in return, getting moisture and dampness.. meaning hinges will rust very fast.
Also, MH without chiller, the temp will rise and u will find that your corals will bleach and die off slowly.
The type of corals u want to keep will mean the type of lights u have to get indirectly. Hard corals and clams are high-loving and need high light intensity... which u should contemplate on getting MH and with MH, u should also consider getting a chiller if not, at least fans to bring the temp down, although fans arent as effective.
Also, with chiller, u are able to monitor the temp better and avoid temp swings, which will also affect the corals.
