Red-tailed Rasbora

I'm looking for this species that is apparently quite common in many of our rural streams and ponds, but is almost never seen in our LFS. The only time I saw them was when they were mixed in with zebra danio at Qian Hu a year ago.

To clarify, I'm looking for this species:

I've seen this species for sale as feeder fish once at C328. Other than that, I doubt any LFS is selling these. There's a big group of them in the concrete ponds at Teo's Aquatic Plant farm up at Lim Chu Kang, where they are probably breeding. I found them in one of the sorting ponds where the workers sort and clean the plants for packing.

Oh, and as an aside, I did some further comparison and took a closer look, turns out that what I thought were red-tailed rasboras mixed in with zebra danio at Qian Hu (some of which are now swimming in my aquarium), were actually the similar Rasbora rubrodorsalis, told apart by the presence of a red dorsal fin:

Don't get it mixed with the 'Sultan fish', which is often also sold as feeders...

Oh yes, given how large those can grow... *shudders*

I only saw Jelawat aka Sultan barb for sale at C328 just once as feeders. Easy to tell them apart since the Jelawat are almost always bigger in size. Those at C328 were juveniles but roughly around 7 to 8 cm in length. Lately, I even found Paradisefish in bags of feeder black mollies.

Those at Teo's farm are probably borapetensis. You can make out their colors in good sunlight.
