Eheim Mech Pro & Substrate Pro (How?)

Hi,

I'm thinking of connecting 2 Eheim filter canister to my 2ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft tank.

Canister 1 - Eheim 2213 with 3L Mech Pro
Canister 2 - Eheim 2224 with 2L Substrate Pro and existing ceramic rings with BB

Can i connect it this way?
Tank --> Canister 1 --> Canister 2 --> Back to Tank's OHP filter cotton

So that if i were to clean the Mech Pro, i can simply disconnect it and clean it while leaving the Bacteria in the Substrate Pro untouched?

I'm using an eheim subfilter 250 (2213 without motor) connected to an eheim 2213 for my 2ft tank.

For your question, with the eheim double taps with quick release it would be very possible. I used 3 taps myself as it allows myself to clean one filter at a time.

For my case, my setup is Tank---> double tap 1---> 2213 subfilter---> double tap 2---> 2213---> double tap 3---> back to tank

I can close tap 1 and 2 to clean subfilter, and can close 2 and 3 to clean filter.

Not sure if I still have the pictures lying around.

I managed to connect it. Having 2213 as the first filter connects to the tank, then to 2224 then back to tank.
Took me some time to get it running. I needed to run 2 filters at the same time before I can get a good flow....
