Based on this fairly accurate link, the species will exceed 2 ft in length easily so it's not recommended for a typical fishkeeper here even with a 6 foot tank available. If you want to keep a knife fish, perhaps try Eigenmannia virescens or Steatogenys elegans if available. Both can be kept in a small group.

comm till 12" then separate them as the aggression appear,sold back to LFS at 18".I really like the way they "vacuum" in the feeder,power!
