Tiger Barb Tank Mates

lighting: 36w 6500k 8 hours a day
filtration: 4kg of biohome plus and frogbit
temp 26 ph 6.8 no3 <10

currently keeping 16 small tiger barb
intend to add 1-2 "show" fish

any recommendation?

can i add ram, or torpedo barb

Generally any barbs can coexist with one another at a right population so torpedo barb is fine BUT no slow moving fish like guppies betta or rams they will get harassed by the barbs so only active fishes like tetras, danios can be kept with them.On the other hand you could get some corydoras or othere bottom dwellers that will not grow big enough to eat them or cause disturbance for example Panda cory or spotted cory.I hope this helps

I can recommend 3-spot gourami as suitable tankmates.

The best is to get highly active fish with have similar behavior pattern as the tiger barb. I would recommend danio amazing fishes always actively swimming.
