    Haha... youdontknowme,
The ikea expedit shelf, don't even show a single sign of stress with my 200kg tank!

I been keep my 2' tank on the same ikea expedit shelf(without any support) for close to two years.
if anyone keeping tank below 2.5ft. I can ensure you will last for years... just make sure you wipe away the water and keep the shelf dry.

If never keep dry, aging will kill it in no time.

    Hi Felix,
Thank you for the advise. I took the shot early morning when sunlight reflection came through my side window.

Here the update on after 42 day (weeks 6)

All the plant grow like crazy. After I changed the light tub to SaveOne. If you compare last few pictures I posted. I removed some plants from the foreground. I think look better.
Added 10 green shrimps two days ago. Good news they all survived. Plan to add more shrimp this weekend.

Both in and out lily pipe fully covered by Aglae Read some post from this forum on Marina brand lily pipe brush. I went down to C328. they all Sold out Anyone know where can I buy the same brush to clear my lily pipe?

Very nice... I guess the new light bulb is more suitable for plants.

I will recommend The SaveOne T8 energy saving tube for all aquascaping enthusiasm. They really work much better than the normal T8 tube. The only problem is that whoever wants to convert their normal T8 tube to SaveOne Tube, they must remove all the ballast.

impressive aquascaping skills. but i personally prefer substrate that are darker in colour like amazonia or soil. Lapis gravel give it a not so natural looks to the tank. but overall the plantings is impressive

The BIG mistake on this setup is the soil you used which is the most crucial of all. In terms of colour and plants grow, etc...

I think it is better that you provide constructive comments on what he did wrong than just pointing a mistake without providing suggestions? It would help his learning, our learning.

    Dear Blue33,

Thank you for your advise. Will try to improve the color and plants grow. Any suggestion what kind of plants I should add or remove to make it look better in color?

    Re: 2013 New Project

What i mean is the colour of the soil and the soil you use is not ideal for planting. The colour of the soil alone already distract the overall view, the focusing becomes the soil instead of the scape. For rooting plant, this soil is totally out.
