    Hi,

I have this glass fish and it's having fin rot. Actually it was having fin rot when its in the LFS, but I didn't notice and pour it into my tank with other fishes before I realised it.

I have mosses in my tank.

    My question is:
Will adding fin rot medication kills the plant and/or other fishes?

Usually as for fin rot for my gold fish, I would take it out, put it in warm water + salt, and it would be cure in a day. But the glass fish swims really fast, hard to catch without emptying some water, and I have mosses in there.

btw, I saw my glass fish globbling up the tera; half of it's tail is hanging out of it's mouth!

    Please advise.

    Ummm... fish medication harm/kill fishes???? * Just yanking your chain * :P :P :P

Anyway, fish medication MAY harm plants. Most medications nowadays do state whether they will harm plants and invertebrates (i.e. shrimps and snails) on their packaging or instruction sheets. If not, don't take the risk.

Why not use the salt treatment? Plants can tolerate a certain amount of salt. I can't remember how much to dose though, maybe another forumer may know.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Btw, to catch fishes, best have 2 nets. One larger and one smaller. The big one is the trap. The smaller is for herding (not chasing) the fish into the big one.

Alternatively, catch the fish at night. Turn off all lights, including the room lights. After about half an hour, turn on all the tank lights, which will stun the fishes, and you have a few minutes to net the fella before he recovers.
