Yes, indeed. Saw them housed with a group of happy chocolate gouramis in a huge tank filled with ketapang water. Don't think they can ask for any better treatment considering its an LFS! Haha
Saw some Paros at y618 in the tank by the shop entrance. They are labelled as wild betta though (facepalm). Not sure on the exact species.
Cheers,
Bernard

Wow. They only take live food right?
Mostly live food. But it is not uncommon for them to be trained to take frozen foods. Dry foods will never work though. If I'm not wrong, the species at Y618 should be Parosphromenus rubrimontis, wild caught and native to Malaysia. Wild caught as I'm assuming they came together with the chocolate gouramis.

Bernard

Dry food will never work for botn the paros and chocolate gouramis?
They work for chocolates, not paros though.

I'm not too sure if they are exactly deissneri. Many commercial shops prefer to list them so when they are actually not. I'm guessing for convenience sake? I'm suppose to drop by today but changed my mind. So how many are there left?

There's still quite a few. Was there grabbing daphnia earlier today.

Here's a quick snap of them.
Great to see so much interest in the Paros. Here's a pic of the male I have with me after coloring up.

Your photography skill is really great! So you got yourself a group of of Paros. Guess, it's another breeding project?

Thanks sx. Nope, not intending to breed then at all. Just enjoy keeping and watching them.

May I know what frozen food are you feeding them with
As of 5:56pm today, still plenty remaining.
Oh, the more drab-coloured ones are the females? I thought they are just stressed versions of the males.
Btw, fellows. Got a curious question: there are 3 types of fish inside that tank near Y618's entrance. 1 (the deep-bodied, dark-coloured ones) are the chocolate gouramis; then there at these Parosphromenus; then here are a 3rd kind, one that's 3/4 the size of the Parosphromenus, & more drab-coloured. What are these 3rd type of fishes?
I have a spare 1ft Gex tank sitting in my toilet and feel like keeping something in it. Problem is, I don't have power in there. Would the paros be okay living without filtration, aeration and survive on natural filtered light from the small toilet window?

Setup: ADA Cube Garden 45-P, Starlitz Clear 45, Eheim Aquacompact 40
Layout/Hardscape: ADA Amazonia Powder Soil, Borneowild Rutsuuddo Wood (SS Root Type)
Fauna: Apisto Trifasciata, Sundadanio Axelrodi (Blue), Yamato Shrimp
Paros would do fine in a tank without filtration but the water must be soft, acidic and clean. Being such delicate fish, I wouldn't suggest keeping them in any tank other than seasoned ones.
