In my experience, under 6500k light tube, the growth seems to be better. Prior to that i am using 10000k T5HO.
10000k are for marine use. But I am still using 1 x 6500k and 1 X 10000k. As the overall color for viewing is better.
I have a 36 gallon bowfront that i want to change to a planted tank. I have the co2 bubbling, just a few plants in tank now, want a lush growth. What is the appropriate lighting. I purchased a Nova Extreme T5 with 2X24 w bulbs one 10,000T5HO and one Freshwater 24 watt bulb. Will that be enough?

You will need more WATT to support the depth of the tank.

It take time for the plants to adapt newly change environment, like a change dosage, change light power, change co2 level, emerged to submerge, etc
Average 2-3 weeks, before you could observe the difference.
My glosso are pearling everywhere after 1 month from emerged to submerged, my wattage just <2wpg
I love all the info provided for newbies. I have continued reading before posting question. Since the lights were on sale i purchased another so i will have a total of 4 bulbs for a total of 96 watts. That will bring the wattage up to 3wpg. I know i will have to increase the co2 once my new plants come in and weekly fetrilizers. Thanks. I look forward to learning so much.
