    Re: Dry start - Fungus

I had fungus issues with my dry start too, was growing HC. I fixed it by spraying with KH2PO4 (1/4 teaspoon in 500mL was my concentration used) and putting a fan on the tank to keep the top of the substrate dry. After I got rid of the fungus I went back to spraying with de-chlorinated water as per usual. Seems like it's fixed the issue for now, my HC has not entirely filled my tank yet so I can't say for sure if it's a workable solution.

I did not cover my tank with anything. The 1st 2 days I tried food wrap, but that resulted in a totally fogged up tank and the fungus growth in the 1st place. I have now resorted to spraying about 200mL of water per 2 days. My tank is 2ft (about 50cm by 40cm by 40cm).
