    Will be going to HK over the weekend to look see at the aquarium shops.... THere is one street which is full of Aquarium shops....(dunno where but wife knows).

    Anyone know of any interesting hard to get plants that I should look out for ?? What about their names in Cantonese ?? (I cant speak cantonese but my wife can..) Hope to bring some rare plants back but as I am a newbie...may end up getting common plants... (


    Are there any restrictions in bring back plants ??

    Appreciate any assistance

    I think the max water u can bring is 3litre and not more then 50 pc of fish. You check out more in other threads. If you are bringing plants, make sure you clean all the soil off.

    There are mosses around, no scientific name though. One common moss sold there are practically unseen locally. You may want to get that.

    There's a shop which sells tropica plants, other than that, not much interesting plants.

    You might be interested in Apistogramma and other fishes there.

    What's the custom (local and foreign) policy on import of 'livestocks and plants' ? I thot there are some control measures to prevent spread of diseases and pests. Can we just bring plants in or do we need to declare?

    stuffs they sell there I find quite scary... even got black tip reef sharks before. a lot of exotic animals.. even this marine shell fish that has a "snail-like" shell with a cutterfish body (sorry for my poor english ).
    got reptiles even baby crocodiles...

    You mean the chambered nautilus...they have them in Singapore also... saw one at Pasir Ris Farm.... and another in the display tank of a marine shop near still road.

    Its a living fossil....wonder if its difficult to keep ??? Hmmm.....

    have not gone yet...tomorrow morning early flight.... 5 am must be at airport... quite excited....been a long time since I so excited before going for a trip.... feel like a kid again
