Hello everyone. I have a couple of questions regarding my nex hangover filter

    1. Periodically I find adult crs in my filter, in the section where water is sucked in. I don't know how this happens and how to stop this. I have a sponge covering the inlet and anyway inlet is too small for adults to pass through. Recently I bought some tigers and I find one of them inside everyday! Is it possible for them to climb up? (There's water flowing a bit out from the inlet area)

    2. How strong should the filtration be? I have no idea what is a good gauge. Typically the filter cartridge gets choked in 4 days with the valve opened about 1/3.

    Thanks!!

It's pretty normal for them to climb.

I agree... just yesterday morning i found a dried up cherry shrimp almost 2 meters away from one of my tanks, it couldn't have jumped that far so it probably crawled out via the lily pipes and somehow manage to walk all the way across the room.

Re: Query about shrimps entering filter

Haha I use a small net 5cm by 5cm to fish them out. Usually no problem with them in the filter inlet area, though I found the body of a crs broken into two parts before.

Thanks everyone for the info. I took out the inlet pipe to wash and scrape off algae and they have since stopped climbing.

Can anyone advise on how much to open the inlet valve? I have about 40 liters of water with one hob filter.
