After months of reading and looking around the forum finally setup my small little 1ft low tech planted tank.
The plan get delay due to the shortage of ADA soil last few month.
Tank size: 30x30x35cm (WxDxH)
Substrat: ADA
Lighting: 30cm beamwork LED (3w x 6 led)
Filter: GEX L Hang on
This is my first time into planted tank so is totally a new thing for me. All the while been keeping marine tank so know very little about planted tank. Been keeping shrimp tank for some time after seeing so many nice planted tank here then come the poison so setup one planted tank. Due to limited space only can have 1ft cube tank to play with.
Please feel free to give some comments as totally a newbie in planted tank.

I notice the glosso seem to grow upward on the 2nd day.
When I plant the glosso, I plant is very deep into the soil only can see the leaf but on the 2nd day it become like this. Is it normal?

I also bought the seachem addictive such a excel and etc.
When should I start to dose these addictive?
When should I start to do water change for this new tank?
As last time when I setup the shrimp tank some people advise to change the water on the 2nd day. Does is apply to planted tank as well?

Ada soil is quite rich, i did not fertz on the first 2 weeks.
It does need water change, every other day, in the first 2-3 weeks, to prevent from ammonia build up. Even its good for the plant, it excites the algae too.
Excel could be used anytime.

1)Can dose excel right away.
2)seachem fluorish is a fertilizer
3)Algae is normal, can be treated and all scapers will get some now and then. Some algae can be quite nice...lol
4)welcome to the hobby...

I am not PERFECT but I am LIMITED EDITION !!!BIG Tank comes with BIG Responsibility...as they makan a lot of $$....lol

thanks for the advise
The wood looks very unnatural with the sawed off ends.
Did you get it yourself? Or you bought from lfs?
You can break of the ends of the wood to make it look natural, or don't make it visible by lowering the water level of the tank to below the end of the branch.

All the wood are bought from lfs. I only combine the the 2 main wood with cable tie.
It was suppose to above the water but due to the light and space so have to do it this way.
Will take noted when I setup another planted tank in the future.

Actually no need to lower water also can. Ive seen some scapes where they use oyama paper and cover the top part. looks good too
Advice from boss Felix

good idea as I got some balance black oyama
