Roughly 8-10hrs a day. Algae eater will help contro the algae
Hi All,
Would like to seek your comment with regards to how much (in terms of time (Hrs)) light and CO2 is required in a 3ft tank in a day?
Would also like to find out, would algae eating fishes or other options be better to curb issues with algae in the tank?
Roughly 8-10hrs a day. Algae eater will help contro the algae
is it OK to switch on the lights only at night? for the CO2 I guess its best to switch off at night?
switch on your CO2 together with your light.
I have a 3ft tank and my light schedule:
On: 0800-1300 (5 hrs)
Off: 1300-1600 (3 hrs)
On:1600-2100(5 hrs)

I have a 2 ft tank. The lights and CO2 are set for 8 hours.
I think it's best to switch on the CO2 about 1.5-2hrs before the lights so that the plants can immediately utilize the dissolved CO2 the moment the lights come on, which will help them outcompete algae in the tank.
Lighting 8 to 10hrs. Co2 on 1 hr before lighting on and off 1 hr before lighting off.
My lighting hours as per following:
1. 0900 hrs to 1200hrs.
2. 1900hrs to 2200hrs.
CO2 together with lighting at about 4-5 bubbles per second.
I just set up a 3ft tank , this info is very useful to me
Hey bro , can I know how many bubble count per second you use?
Anyway I just set up my tank , in it there are riccia and japanese hair grass .
Is 2 bubble per second sufficient ?
