Is that a dennerle internal reactor? From what i see is that if there's no flow driving the reactor, the CO2 wouldnt be produce that well.

Thank you for this link. Shadow then stated the line I was looking at "One 100 watt metal halide lamp produces the same light as three 48" high output T8 fluorescent lamps."
After I posted I went to check on T5 vs MH. There seems to be 2 camps out there. Anyway. This is about Roger. So we'll stick to that.
I have them working at work. But they stick very close to the gravel and their leaves are really small, in any case I don't dose the one at work much. I think they have a "working" level of light they require.

how long does it usually takes for a 4ft tank setup up to be fully filled with lawning HCs? any idea anyone?

Using same setup, when come to different person handling, the result is different also. Approximately 1-3 month. HC loves CO2 and cold water.![]()

Hi.. My ph level for the tank is around 6-7 haven really tested it yet..
Best regards
Roger

That is good.
I did a full HC setup before. It take time for the HC to break in before they start to grow like crazy. They need lots of co2 and strong light.
During my break in period, i added fast growth stem plants at the background. There is pearling seen on the stem plants.
I personally feel that the stem plants will help to balance the aquaria water and stimulate faster growth in HC.
Once the HC growth is fast, i remove the stem plants.
I hope this will help.

Hi Roger
May I know where did you get your HC? I assume they are bought loose form, not attached to any rock/mesh
Also, did you plant the HC before or after getting the fishes? I managed to pull out some HC to plant directly, but my fishes seem to be qute successful in uprooting them
Thanks in advance

Hi Roger,
Take a look at this site.
Hope it helps you.

I always wanted a HC lawn like the one on the site but never had a chance to try. Failed a few times when just started off.
The guys in CAU, they tend to use 1watt per litre
the picture i show u is using 72w for a 1.5ft tank. so it is almost 2watt per litre.

Hope this helps.
What plants to use???? Arggggg......
hello.. i actually gotten my hc from a friend of mine and i plant it with fishes in it cause previously i was doing a glosso scape. so i didnt manage to take out all the fishes. anyway. u gotta be very patient for the uprooting of the HC. cause it is the natural process.. it will definitely fly ha. depending on u, u can either throw the ones that uprooted away or replant them back. it takes me about 6 weeks to actually see it start growing a little. i will update my picture of my HC tank shortly.
Best regards
Roger
hello! thanks for the website recommendation. from a humble beginning, i experience many failure or perhaps even up till today there would be something going wrong and needs to be rectifite immediately, my experiences with HC is that, all u need is patient. thats the key word i can give u. in my opinion, it doesnt really need water that cold. but a good circulation of co2 and strong light and good fert will usually do the trick to lawning it. i personally realise that my people have attempted HC lawning(iwagumi scape) in small tanks e.g 2ft or smaller. but attempting a 4ft is definitely not that easy. my advise to all friends that are new and intending to set up HC tank, pls start small. it would be rewarding and easier to see results.
Best regards
Roger
hi guys! finally manage to get sometime to upload my recent photo of my tank. feel free to feedback and comment.
Best regards
