your tank's quite simple but nice could you share more information about your lighting system, filter, ph, temp? and how old 's your tank?
Beautiful, natural landscape is connected to spirits of human beings.

Thanx, it is all very simple, being new in my industry i cant afford anything too high end .
    The lighting is 6X T8 tubes (3 diferent types, 4 are growlux, 1 white and 1 that is yellowish ) for a total of 190W(30W X 5 and 40W X 1).
Filtration is thanx to an oversized hang on back, lots of plants and a huge surface area on the DIY background.
I keep the temp between 24C and 26C.
the last time i tested my water the pH was 6.6 - KH of 3 - NO2 and NO3 of 0.
The tank is about 6 months old but the current arangement of plants and Mopani wood. It has been the way it looks in the photos above for about 6 weeks.
I fertilize my tank with a liquid fertiliser specialy designed to be used with our soft tap water.
Oh and i usually do two 10% water changes a week.

They do churn it up a bit but only like the first 2 or 3 mm so it isnt an issue.

Thanx carapace, i would love a glosso carpet but dont think the conditions will work, not enough co2 and not enough light, will change this as soon as the high saeson kicks in and i'm earning more money... I am looking for some pygmy chain sword to cover the substrate as this is much easier to grow

    Re: My 240l planted tank

    Hello Derrick,

I have Hemianthus micranthemoides which I got from Liaquat Sain. It grows taller, with bigger leaves, than Glossostigma elatinoides but Even under my lighting conditions, 90 W over 1.2 m tank, the plant will send out horizontal growths. (I do use a home made CO2 reactor to bubble CO2 into the tank.) It will probably grow much denser and less lanky under your intense light than in my tank.

I will need to trim mine back soon and could send you the cuttings to push into your gravel. I also have dwarf chain swords (Echinodorus quadricostatus). I would love some Rotala wallichii and macranda.

PM me if you are interested. I'm in Cape Town.
