Day 1 of tank
Plant: HC
Fishes: Not yet decided whether to add
Shrimps: Please recommend.
Yamato shrimps will be added end of the week to help cleaning up.
You better only livestock them after your hc has some growth.
Maybe you could have planted in smaller clumps? I find larger clumps surviving better in dsm.
Just my personal opinion.

Hi Felix, thanks for your comments and time into this. Much appreciated.
Noted on stocking after hc growth, but I am not even sure if hc will grow, it's my "first attempt" planting them.
This is 1 packet of hc from LFS split into 35 smaller clumps, I nearly "died-ed" from the amount of time and effort it takes into this, haha. By the way what is dsm? Thank you.
Every opinion counts.
Just planted more HCs, 1st batch planted on 4th has shrunk 20%. 2nd batch that went in show signs of bubbling. Something is wrong but I don't know what it is, those planted on 4th Nov is shrinking...![]()
It's becoming submerged growth bah.
Alot of us see that since the hc we can buy from normal lfs are all farmed in emersed conditions.

Tropics Cuba added 2 days back, did water change and can see bubbles from plants.
Yesterday realised no bubbling and first/second batch of Cuba from lfs, non tropica turned brown.
Will do water change daily 10% to see if that will help.
its melting.
Might be the lack of CO2.
Yes. But also depends how strong your lights are. It has to be proportionate.
You using 2-3 bps now??

Sometimes KH is playing the part, i experienced similar before. I wasnt aware my KH is only 1 dkh that day & even though my co indicator is yellow ( i thought co2 was rich enough), PH is < 6, Till i bought KH tester.
People tend to say it's better to have KH > 4 for better buffer and protect PH from fluctuant. So i used baking soda and gradually increase from 1,2,3, and now 4 dkh. Even though my co2 indicator is around green and light green. I easily could forecast how much my co2 ppm roughly now.
Now PH is 6.3 - 6.7
dkh 4.

CO2 for 24rs?
I thought plants take in oxygen in the night and does not require CO2? What happens to the excess CO2 at night?
