    Hi all,
My name is Tony from Sydney just relocated here recently (Sept).
I had a 4fter Planted tank in Sydney and wanting to setup something similar, probably a bit smaller (3ft).
I have also been a member of the Aquarium Life forum as well. So looking forward to have my tank setup and catch up with life
We have a catch up every few months in Sydney so not sure if there is something similar over here. If there is then i'll be looking forward to meet some of you.

Here are some shots of my old tank.

I think so judging from the look. I'm always a big fan of colourful tank rather than composition/rocks/woods.

With that kind of well-planted and cared-for tank, you must have lived many years life of as it should be. I can see the tranquility-inspiring 'aura' of that setup. Cheers.

    Haha "tranquility-inspiring 'aura'" yeah right!!

I'm still getting to know Singapore and all the LFS. Have been trying to visit one by one and work out which one will be my favourite
So far I have only been to GC, C328. Quite like them both as each has their own advantage but leaning toward C328 as they are more "market" like shop, specially the florist shop. I will try to visit Shrimp Haven this week then I have Hong Yang on my sight but it is quite far away.

Also heard about some good one in Yishun but dont know where they are yet.

Sounds good to me, will try this weekend. Wkday open only until 7pm.

Does anyone know where I can get some garden supplies like: blood and bone, marble chips, laterite soil, unwashed sand etc? I'm planning to do DIY again for my substrate. Can't afford aqua soil anymore

Petsmart Shops (Serangoon Blocks 152) and the one at Yishun Block 618 are worth visiting too. Also Qian Hu at Chua Chu Kang too.

But Seaview is worth another trip, since they may not be there for long. If they move to other quarters, they may be smaller than they are now.

You can try places like Far East Flora. However I think you might find it not so cost effective here.

Went to CRS Haven yesterday without knowing they are not open on Tuesday However managed to talk to Phillip for a bit. He's definitely a nice guy, will visit there again this weekend.

Thanks all for the suggestion, it looks like this weekend will be a busy one

Bro Hip, maybe you should go around other LFS to ask around for prices before purchase at CRS Haven... Hope this weekend you will have a fun time setting up tank.... =)

Went to NA over the weekend, they are having good price on ADA Amazonia II ($36/9kg) so I grab 3 bags since it is the closest to home and also at a decent price.

    Here's the damages

Wood and CO2 were from AQ member

    And here is the result

@ milk_vanilla: No that's the Cal Aqua 17mm lily pipe outlet.

@Shadow: I thought about that too but i'm sux with rocks so I am trying to compensate it with plants/wood.

Or can you give me some suggestion on rocks layout/arranging please?

Welcome to Singapore and AQ Hip,

I assume you're staying somewhere in the north/central of Singapore?

Since, you've gone to a few of the LFS here, you might want to try the following:
    1) Seaview (2 Seletar Farmway 2)
    2) Y618 (Blk 618 Yishun Ring Road)
    3) Y934 (Blk 934 Yishun Central 1 - AquaStar)

    Good luck.

Re: New to Singapore from Sydney

Haha yes I'm in Somerset so all LFS are far far away. Yishun will be my next area. Now I have a pretty good idea of where to get what. Just been to GC today and they have by far the best Shrimps at same price as other LFS. I specially like their fire red which I am planning to get some for my tank. But $4/ea is still quite a bit compare to forum price.

You can try NA, probably the closest, located at Thomson rd, opposite Thomson medical center
