Hi all, I have just gotten a 3cm red tail catfish from an lfs a few hours ago. I have tried feeding it frozen brine shrimp but it just spits it out. What does a RTC of this size eat?

Also, what can I feed my 6cm pleco besides algae wafers?

Some advice would be greatly appreciated

    Regards,
    King

Normally RTC eat anything that it can fit in his mouth so for it to spit out the food, I wonder if the water conditions are fine. For RTC this size, I will recommend frozen blood worm. Mine grown on this diet from this size to current 30cm.

Maybe the fish is still trying to adapt to it's new environment, can try again tomorrow? RTCs are not fussy eaters so they should be fine with frozen food. Otherwise if it continues to not eat, can try live tubifex? However that's quite risky and should be your last resort.

For your pleco, can try feeding it sliced zucchini.

It is not recommended to feed your fishes just hours after being introduced into a new tank.... Try again AT LEAST 24 hours later...
