I finally uploaded an avatar and Cupid is dead!!!![]()
Saw the A.elizabathae. To me both looks like male. Cause both have long tip dorsals. Might be wrong though. But they really do have quite red cheeks.

thanks for the input wilson!
i didn't see the dorsal fin but the caudal fin tip looked like it was "closing-up" the tip like a male's or do female A.elizabethae's have this too?![]()
i was so tempted as they look so healthy and fiesty.
and good price too!

mmm. actually not closing up, but the caudal fin will expand and then shape to become lyretail as they grow. Whereas the female has a rounded caudal. From what i see both don't seem to be rounded. But if it's a female think it's quite good catch given the redness.
Also saw alot of apistos in cramped spaces. If they got Claustrophobia, sure go crazy. hehe.

yes, left C328 2 hours ago. Yes, that pair is looking excellent. Met one hobbyist looking at them, very keen to get that pair; mentioning that irregardless if both turned out to be males. Its not a problem, as long he gets a good specimen of the breed. He can follow up to source for quality females so that breeding can be optimal. He mentioned that the pair is in excellent condition and are almost matured for good breeding.
Guess, he has another way of buying apistogramma for selective breeding. Best of luck if he has bought that pair.![]()

Hi celticfish, don't think you'll be able to breed them.
Both are males and the younger male looks great!
cheers.
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
yorky,
thanks for the comment.
this really helps in my apisto knowledge!
you like the small fellow too huh?![]()
if not for the fry i have on hand i would have got them...

saw A.agassizzii 'red', A.cacatuoides, A.bitaeniata, A.sp "Mamore" and A.elizabethae at C328
Was at C328 today. Some apistos that really caught my eye. Saw a pair of A.candidi. Female is very nice. Has very reddish finnage. As for the male, his mouth looks strange though or maybe it's the angle. But has got long ventrals. Another nice pair would be the yellow head A.borelli. Quite big though but you should see them flare. Super yellow finnage.
Also saw lots of checker boards. Some spots with red cheeks and ventral fins. Tempted to get them.

A.hoignei?? Anyone got them? hard to come by man. Quite easy to see. A.hoignei got a blue face compared to the regular A.vjieta and A.macmasteri.
One of my favourite apistogramma.

Anyone looking for female A. elizabethae? Was at C328 yesterday and they are selling female individual.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
just went down to c328 yesterday. looks like they got new stock in as the table was covered with small individually bagged apistos with the pairs stapled together (the bags, not the fish!). i was rushing off and it was crowded so i didn't get to inspect much, but i noticed a pair of Apistogramma cacatuoides 'triple red's with pretty nice finnage (red coloured not orangey but pattern not so nice la) and some A.cacatuiodes 'orange flash', again with nice finnage. the body colouring looked washed out though, could be due to stress from the transport.
prices are lower than ever before though, it's a perfect time for people with lower budgets to start on the hobby

illumnae, try to use the full names of the fish instead so all of us can learn together in the hobby...
By the way... You might as well mention that each fish is $1x... Best not to mention, directly or hinting exact pricing... Some shops do not appreciate that...![]()
Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/
I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted!), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted!
), C.tonkinensis(Melted!
), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii
Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...
sorry i've removed the price reference. went down again last night and apparently the price auntie quoted me was wrong
I think C328 now have a single female for sale. Seems like the male died.
