    anyone knows what they eat?
    herbivores, omnivores or carnivores?
    or wood?
    i have been reading comments they don't last very long.

    Truthfully, no idea. Just try all kinds of food - dry/live, leave some wood and algae in there.

    Personally, I have never seen them eat, although they get mildy excited over dry/live food that is dropped in the tank. However, as there are other fishes in there, it cannot be concluded that they did eat them even if the food are not found anymore by the next day.

    You won't get to see them much either, they are very reclusive and hide well.

    cute as these guys are i get the feeling that keeping them is quite a lost cause...
    hopefully someone does a break through with them.
    but of more immediate importance is a fish profile.
    i can't seem to find anything decent on them...

    Eh could be different spp of Parotocinclus, so diet might differ.

    Sorry for the misleading title of the thread. Actually this is not just about any Parotocinclus spp., but a specific species which has not been described scientifically yet, hence there is no scientific name.

    I have renamed the thread title and added an image to the opening post to avoid confusion.
