    Hi Guys,

Just want to share with you a plant that I got from Chatuchak, Bangkok.

Don't know what it is. Come in a bunch, I thought it was some kind of grass but upon removing it from the pot it seems to be like a flower as it is joined to 1 thick stem. Weird huh?

Anyone seen this or knows what this is?

    One of the Cyperus sp.
It is the "head" of the stalk. New plants will grow from it. It is a marginal aquatic plant.

Yeah, it's cool looking plant but when I bought it I thot it was grassy type, oh well.

Bro CK is right, one of the big bunches now has grown 3 tall stems which I am curious as to what it will grow to. I will take a photo of it and place it in this thread.

I always try to look out for interesting plants when I visit CTC and guys/gals, one packet only costs BHT10 - BHT15! Cheap, cheap!:joy:

Kind of looks a bit like this plant in my backyard, with the flower head bundled up. For this plant of mine, the flower head will lower down over time and if it touches water, new shoots will grow.

Er,,,,I don't have the name of the plant, got it from a road side stall at Bukit Merah. Had been growing it for 4-5 years already. Maybe next time I go to those nurseries like Far East Flora, I will see if they have it with the proper name.

The plant could be Cyperus Papyrus.. which is mostly used in garden features...
