I notice those custom tank are quite greenish tint colour and pretty dark? I find it more suitable for Arowana than for planted tank! Do they have clearer glass, i mean more transparent and clarity like ADA tank? I guess it would be quite costly also! Also the silicone is not so well done like ADA clear silicone and most of them using black silicone and is quite thick glued together. What you guys think?

most glass has a greenish tint due to iron content (impurities). the tint is visible from the side and is not noticable from the front.

clear glass known as starphire or mineral glass. these cost several times more than regular glass.

Yes, custom tanks in Singapore usually use common float glass (so called Grade 1)... they are very green whether see from front or side. I have seen so many custom tanks during my marine days... and mostly disappointing including one 4x2x2 sitting in my office empty right now.

If you have already bought the tank, one way to counter that is to have bright light. If you are using MH, go for 10,000K. The whiteness of the light will balance off the greenish tint.

You can consider Juwel tanks too. Their EU made (possibly German made) glass is good!

Yes! The thicker the glass... the more visible the colouration. My 4ft is 12mm thick... horrible

Not too sure about the Taiwan made Juwel... but their glass clarity is better in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing! I guess i need to think twice when getting a custom make tank! I know NA do make those optic-clear tank, add about $200/side on top of the stand tank make.

Previously blueboy show me a picture Weeyang tank maker produced a optic-clear tank in this thread, but somehow his message disappear. Here's the link/pic to the tank, is 3 side make of optic-clear. This really a nice make tank, less silicone and optic-clear tank.

It boils down to the quality of the sand being used and the process it went through to become ultimately - glass. Thus the different grades of glass in the market.
