can anyone advice if it is better to get a CO2 tank with the CO2 diffuser to supply the Co2 into the water or purely liquid CO2 is enough ?

I've havent started on marine tanks so not too sure if the basics is similar.

Instead of going head on towards the equipment setup, have you given a thought on the plants you intend to keep and their requirements ? scape ?

btw, I usually start with plant density of 90% before filling up the tank.

co2 cylinder is a better long term solution.
and i believe co2 is beneficial for some marine tanks as well.

Welcome to the hobby. Speaking from a hobbyist with marine background... you will find planted tanks quite challenging and inspiring too. Require a different set of skills and approach. Post in the members tank section

    Hi Bro,

Try to surf around for some inspiration. Visualise and plan how you want your tank to look like. Can start off with some sketches. Source around some local fish stores or marketplace for some good buys.

Take your time and don't rush ....let your tank slowly develop to your ideal scape.

Lol,there's really no need to feed cherry shrimps. From what I know, they are mainly algae eaters. But let's say if there isn't algae in your tank, etc you can feed them algae wafers.Anyway, here's a link for you to find out more on cherry shrimps.

    Cheers,good luck with your tank!

i run a fan during the night time on timer.. the tank is inside the office so during the day , the water is cold by the aircon..

water temp is kept at around 28 , and at one time it drop till 24 degree !! Will this be a problem for the fish or shrimp inside ?

runing on 10 hour of light per day, but no far not a trace of algae found on the tank ??

How can we prevent excess algae growth on the tank ? cut down on the no. of light runing hour or ?

Not too sure if there's any long term effect on the flora and fauna due to erratic changes of temp daily, maybe those whom hv tanks in office setup can shed some light coz I intend to setup 1 small tank with moss + shrimps in my office too, I took temp from one of the flower glass filled with water, during office hour it was something like 23 Deg C, but after office hours, it shot up to 27-28 Deg C as well.
