    Hi to all,

Saw my pair of balloon ram guarding a nest of eggs 2 days ago... the pair laid its eggs on the gravel that was cleared into something like a depression. The tank is a community tank with cardinal tetras, lampeyes and discus. Can even see the parent ram chasing away even the big discuses when they go near the nest...
but last night i checked and the parents did not guard the nest anymore and one of the cardinal tetra seems to be feeding on the eggs, which were whitish in color.
Does anyone know why the nest was abandoned? Is there too much disturbance or the eggs were not fertilised?

    latest update...
the pair of ballon ram laid eggs again 2 days ago. And just now i just saw wriggling movements on a slight depression of the gravel, but the weird thing is that i saw the eggs at one location 2 days ago and now the eggs have hatched at another location of the tank.
will keep a close lookout for the little wriggling movement...
    cheers!
