Hi Kee Hoe,

Did you get these at around $1 to $1.50 each? Do they look like apisdoras but have long dorsal fins?
If they are, they are very likely to be be juvenile brochis splendens.

I bought them because they are so small, hoping that they will remain that way.................... There goes my dream of beautiful cleaning crew.

Hehee np Kee Hoe. Me and my colleagues also bought some but gave them away witin 12hrs knowing they are brochis They can grow to more than 12cm FYI

On the other hand, I do know brochis do not sell as well as cories. I wonder if this is a tactic by local fish breeders to breed juvenile ones and sell them since the big ones do not sell. If it is, I would say that's a low tactic by the breeders

Double confirm, those are indeed baby Brochis, probably splendens but not britskii or multiradiatus. They look cute before they become hulking giants..

Lesson learned. Next time i will ask the shop keeper whether they will grow any bigger before i buy. At lease i can take back to the shop keeper and exchange for other fish.

I doubt the shop keeper would know how big they'll grow to. Its usually a game of chance where fishes are concerned. You have to do your homework before you get something, or risk having an unwanted or oversized fish in your home aquarium.
