Hi guys, After scrolling through the photo are this black algae shrimps? With curious bought a few back home few weeks ago from our LFF, keep them into my 1 feet low tech planted tank with a pair of Apistogramma. Did not put much attention on them, a few days back i realize a few of them turn black . The day i bought it back the color looks exactly like Malayan shrimps. Just curious to know. All the shrimps in the tank are of the similar pale coloration? Like light shade of translucent grey or there are some hint of red coloration? The black look very nice from your photos!

    Can I input my experience?
I had 4 adults with me since my 3 feet. They turned blackish after 3 weeks. Also noted they loved to hide in driftwood which is of near colour

I changed them to my out door tank and they changed light brown.

I'm happy to say their my oldest shrimp I have. Around 2 years old lol.

Personally never heard before, but I'm quite noob still
But shrimps often have nicknames, when many call them that way it becomes a local name.
