There is a pipe brush sold at LFS.. Or you can purchase a more expensive one at GC...
Hi there lily pipe owners!
I would like to ask if there are any cheap (non-ADA) options to clean the narrow neck of a 10 mm lily pipe? The internal diameter of the lily pipe is comparable to an air hose and I'm not sure if there's any brush-on-soft-spring-device thin enough to do the job.
My lily pipe is so clogged with muck my flow rate is pathetic even after back-flushing my canister.

I've seen lily pipe cleaner (flexible wire with brush at the end) sold at Seaview/Nanyang also. Or, you can go "DIY" like what Adrian did here. My experience using that specific wire from Diaiso is that it's a tad too short for the inflow (17mm).
Thanks for fast replies guys! I'll go check it out though I'm a little concerned whether the springs are narrow enough to thread through the insanely small internal diameter of the lily pipe
You can try clorox but make sure clean it properly, if not will kill your fauna
Hi keigo86. A easy way try to soak in hot water and bleach it eventually the muck will get off. This solution is fine and works for me. A friend of mine taught me![]()
When a habit begins to cost money, it's called a hobby.
just want to add, be careful when soaking with hot water because sudden temp change can cause glass to crack![]()
Actually I'm quite apprehensive to removing my lily pipe from the hose because being the leaks and flood paranoid that I am, I've made doubly sure that the hose does not detach itself from the lily pipe. I increased the outter diameter of the lily pipe with many wraps of plumber's tape around it before shoving it into the hose. So there's a bulge between the hose and the lily pipe now, making it impossible to remove unless i cut the hose open along the axial direction.
Thanks for the advice anyway guys! I'll see if I can find a thin enough spring brush.
