White Sand- Pool Filtered Sand

Hi All,

Am new here. Gonna set up a simple 7 gallon tank with white sand and some rockscaping- hardwater for some african cichlids.

Anyone has any idea where can i buy these white sands? Was thinking if those LFS at seraggon pet walk will have it.

Was looking for this but couldn't really find any, so I used play sand which you can buy from gardening shops etc. May not be as easy as pool filter sand to wash, but still might be cheaper. My two cents.

Fine white sand is difficult to come by. These are usually artificially colored sand. The closest would be play sand, which is probably a quartzite type of material. If you ask me, Sudo's Reef Sand should fit your purposes nicely. However, I could not find it anywhere lately.

As for washing the sand, there is an extremely easy method which involves no washing, just a plastic bottle, gravity and instant usage of the sand, minus the waste of water when you try to clean it manually.

Yeah I've been trying to find sudo reef sand but its no where to be found yet. End up buying this white fine gravel which should be easier to maintain than sand.

A tank background and my tank is ready to run!

According to the LFSes I made inquiries with, they should have stock next week.

Sailfin has a unopened bag of gex pure white sand for sale, might want to consider..

Thanks for the replies. Look at my white gravel, not as nice as white sand but I'll settle for now.

Bought filter and LED and feeder online and parcel was lost. Very Upset.

Anyone has any idea where to get thin sleek LED lamp? white and blue light would be nice.
