ya my tank is also around 0ppm. I'm increasing nitrate through dosing Seachem Flourish Nitrogen.

theres a pipette included. And you can follow the directions. Dose after every water change. But exercise with caution. Get a NO2 test kit as well.

Bro, pls dun don't dose too much K? You might end up killing ur your shrimp. I always feel that for crs tank, plants can die for all i care. shrimp ok can liao. haha.
Maybe u you can try dosing like 1/4 of the stated dose or less. and do it really slowly.

You adding No2 or No3??

To me actually also cant tell the difference to plant growth before and after dosing. Because my nitrate is 0ppm, nitrogen being part of essential NPK, i felt there's a need to increase the concentration as they are part of their building blocks. So to me its not just a breeding crs tank but also a planted tank. If you follow the dosing formula strictly or underdose, should not be a problem to crs. Remember to always measure your nitrate. My nitrate is now maintain around 10ppm and zero crs casualties. And it's not all about nitrogen. You've to monitor the potassium and phosphorus as well as the micros to ensure good plant growth.

for my 3ft crs tank. i dose twice weekly. with 50% WC weekly
1/2 tsp KN03
1/4 tsp KH2P04
1/8 tsp K2S04
5ml Trace Elements
take note i'm using 4x39watt t5
monitor your plants growth first then +/- the dosing amount.

how much nitrates can crs take before they start dying? I'm maintaining my tank at 0ppm nitrates. I'm not using ada for this tank but started another with ada. nitrates are about 10ppm. its been cycled for 3 weeks and i'm still scared to intro the crs in due to the nitrates. Bro lee, are u using ada? i've been cracking my head how to bring the nitrates down in the tank as i dun wana have any rooted plants in there. only mosses.

skipjackies : I'm using lushgrow. Can't advise much on the amount of dose. You would have to keep monitoring
Barra21: You can try frogbit or any floating plants. Always good for cycling tanks

Nope. I'm using CO2 to lower pH.
