I'm sure the night race would be just like like watching night foot ball matches. Our place is so well lit and they will add extra lights just to impress the international audience.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
I think the extra lights are a neccesity, flood lights being the exact type needed. At the speeds that F1 goes, the everyday street lights, no matter how bright, are just not going to cut it.

One nice thing about night race is you can see the brakes glow in orange when in use.

Lewis Hamilton came in 2nd at Sepang! Wow. Is it the car or the driver?

Probably both? Alonso was way out in front and Hamilton got the fastest lap, so it tells a lot about the McLaren (best car for race day). But to get the fastest lap and holding both the Ferraris at bay, says something about the driver.

Interesting (albeit controversial to some) comment by Hamilton about tricking Massa into the overtaking mistake.

Massa is really shocking. Between him and Hamilton, Massa is the one who looks a lot more like the rookie.

Man, Ferrari was held at bay by a F1 rookie! At the 3rd lap, Hamilton lull Massa into getting him to overtake. Hamilton held on long enough for Massa to build up speed and by the time Hamilton gave way to Massa, Massa was too fast to take the corner and went grass surfing. Hamilton brake hard in anticipation of that corner but escaped scott free as Raikkonen closes the gap. Alonso finish the race 18++ sec in the lead to win the race. The top 3 driver were familiar faces from the last race winner but only the winning position was different with Alonso taking the 1st position follow by his team mate Hamilton and Raikkonen was placed sadly third, by the look of his facial expression. Massa who went grass surfing never recovered and finish fifth.

I think when Massa went grass surfing, he was pissed off for getting in that situation. Ferrari has a faster car than McLaren but somehow he can't 'perform' as well as he should. Can't recovered from fifth position. Maybe it's due to the heat at the track or maybe that grass surfing session gets his concentration haywired but he didn't performed well in my opinion. Raikkonen, Mr Iceman Cometh also didn't do well, tailgating most of the time. It might be the heat that got to him too.

This Hamilton chap might just be the new Michael Schumacher. I was impressed watching the 3rd lap. He really know his stuff.

Hamilton really knows his stuff, capturing 2nd position by the 1st corner and never look back, despite starting 4th on the grid. shame to the ferraris. hamilton is the man to look out for in the coming races.

I believe Ferrari had "engine conservation" in mind... Because they weren't really aggresive at all. Even raikonnen backed off eventually.

    F1 in Singapore!! It happening!!!

Contrary to earlier reports, Bernie Ecclestone confirmed on Friday that the first Singapore Grand Prix will be staged at night.

"As a night race we anticipate it will quickly establish itself as one of the most dramatic and atmospheric races on our calendar," he said.

In explain that the event towards the end of next year's calendar would be the 'first ever' night race, the F1 supremo also hinted that talks to also stage the season opening Australian Grand Prix under lights next year had not been successful.

Night events are relatively common place in NASCAR, Champ Car and IndyCar.

But the cars used in NASCAR or IndyCar has headlights right?
    F1 cars don't have...

Lots of floodlights will be needed for this one.

No they don't, but they run on well lit stadium type oval tracks.

I can safely say that Murphy had a field day during the Spanish race. Lots of stuff happen from the norm of crashes to the ultra rare case of Ferrari having engine failure. Anything and everything happened in this race. From fire hazard to jumping the gun to release the car from the pit stop, it was a happening race! But Massa came in 1st followed by Hamilton and Alonso. There was so much jinx happening to nearly all of the race team. Teammate nearly taking out each other, a near accident at the entrance to the pit stop, wheel hub nut not properly affixed to the tyre and so on! That track is suay if you ask me.
