Slippery little suckers

Slippery little suckers is the name of a fish shop from down under (Australia). Now it has a new branch in Malaysia!

Many thanks to Malaysian branch managers, Kevin & Joseph for inviting me to visit their new shop at Ara Damansara, near KL city.

Slippery Little Suckers at Kingsford! Small shop that packs a punch! 5mins from where i used to live, great shop that made me start an aquarium while i was in Sydney.

And what left a deep impression of the shop on me was their crystal clear tanks that houses many different types of swordtails, each type in their own tank, all kept in top notch condition. Comparing to how our LFS sell swordtails, they were treating it with lots of tender loving care!

Indeed this look like one good fish shop to visit. Impressed by the neat layout of the tanks and cosy environment. Any chance of them opening a shop in Singapore?

Maybe you ask them.....got email addresses in their website.

Back then, i have not join AQ. So didn't take pictures of the shop during my stay there.

But i must say the "ang mos" kept fishes so differently as compared to our LFS. And what we treat as feeders, the swordtails were going like A$3.00 to A$6.00 for a piece depending on the species.

I'd just like to make corrections on the fish IDs.
Wild betta is Betta mandor(formerly Betta foerschi "Mandor")

Some fish from Amazon.
Yah... only SOME. Biggest striped fella is Distichodus sexfasciatus (from Africa). Large cichlid on the left is Vieja fenestratus (Central American)...and yes the various plecos are from the South American.

C.frontosa is correct although some would say C.gibberosa.

Aulonocara baenschi

Aulonocara sp "Rubenscens" (Ruby red)

Pseudotropheus kingsize

Oh and Michael, thanks for the visit. Was unfortunate that I had to be somewhere else when you came. Would have loved to give you the grand tour of the place.

SLS KL is our[MAC gang] favourite LFS hangout. In fact so popular that Kev and Joe get 'I miss your shop/fishes' type of sms and calls in the middle of the night!
