Nice male hino. Color is thick.
Is it more than 1 year old?

    Thanks for the nice comments.
I'm using the Dolphin TEM chiller, averaging 25deg.

As for the hino, I thought it's a female.
Don't know the age cause I bought from a local breeder.

How big is your tank? Is TEM sufficient to keep the temperature constant?

Also considering the Dolphin TEM. Very tempting.
    Is it good?

I was refering to the last pic. The under belly is straight and there is a angle carapace to the abdomen. So I guess high chance it is male.

I'm using the Dolphin MC-789 double TEM.
So far so good but the power supply do create quite a substantial amount of heat. You have to place it away from the tank.

I guess that is a male then. I have another not so nice piece that is pregnant thou.

Nice CRS....pretty white for your hino.

May I know what's the substrate you are using? Will it cloud the water and how long it takes for the water to settle down during your tank setup?

Hmm....I'm still thinking which substrate to use for my new tank setup in office. GEX, Magic or ADA...etc

BTW, I suggest you tie up your spiky moss just like your fissiden. It will look neater and nicer. I have bunch of taiwan moss floating around too. They grow but kinda messy. Some hobbylist tie them to mesh and use it as backdrop. Just a suggestion

The substrate is red sand something, I can't remember. It does cloud the water and it cleared overnight.

I'm looking for some other moss to replace the spiky. It's currently tied to a slab of stone.

I did not grow the fissiden myself.
Bought it off this forum's marketplace.

The length of tank is about 40cm.
I have several breedouts but mostly low grades.
One of my hino just gave birth but I have not seen the babies yet.
